This course focuses on the AQA Biology topic: Cell Biology.
Cell Biology is the foundation of GCSE Science. This course builds from Core knowledge of cell structures, adaptations of cells and microscopy through to Elite-level reasoning about cell division, and the use of stem cells. The course is suitable for BOTH combined science and biology only (triple science). We will be using the AQA Biology Specification as a reference.
We will be covering the following specification points:
- 4.1.1 Cell structure
- 4.1.1.1 Eukaryotes and prokaryotes
- 4.1.1.2 Animal and plant cells
- 4.1.1.3 Cell specialisation
- 4.1.1.4 Cell differentiation
- 4.1.1.5 Microscopy
- 4.1.2 Cell division
- 4.1.2.1 Chromosomes
- 4.1.2.2 Mitosis and the cell cycle
- 4.1.2.3 Stem cells
